George Nakai is a character in the Netflix series, Beef. He is Amy Lau's ex-husband and father to June.
Biography[]
George is married to Amy. He is also the son of a renowned architect and designer. He is a ceramicist, who makes vases that are hard to sell, but he’s keen to focus on his business after his wife, Amy, sells off her own. George is a stay-at-home dad, who has a strong bond with his only sweet child and daughter, June, who loves to paint people and objects alike. He grew up wealthy, and is used to living in wealthy households.
George tries to make his relationship with Amy work, after she feels distant and experiences anger issues. He suggests couple's counseling, and Amy agrees with him to attend a psychiatric medical center. However, George emotionally cheats on Amy with her assistant, Mia. He often looks at her online pictures to masturbate.
George supports Amy as the breadwinner of the family, helping to hold down the household, while she does business. He admits, after some time, that he had an emotional relationship with Mia, but he ended it. He asks Amy for forgiveness, and she gives it. However, George is pushed to the edge when he finds out that Amy cheated on him with Paul Cho, Danny's younger brother. Amy ends up confessing everything, and George asks her for a divorce.
When Amy is out of the house, "Zane" (Danny Cho) comes to the door and George lets him in, but pulls a gun at him. Danny wrestles him for the gun, and he accidentally knocks George out. George wakes up, and calls the police. He calls Amy to tell her that June is gone. Eventually, he gets a call that June is at Jordan's house, inside of her car waiting. George leaves to get June, and takes her home. He immediately files for emergency custody of June.
Eventually, George realizes that Amy is missing, and he pursues after her. Days later, he found her with Danny, believing that Danny is out to harm her. George shoots Danny directly, causing Danny to end up in the hospital in a coma, while Amy looks out for him every time.
