Fumi Nakai is a character in the Netflix series, Beef. She is the mother of George Nakai.
Biography[]
Fumi is the widow of a renowned architect who has never worked a day in her life. She spends most of her time as a doting grandmother to June, and visits her son’s family often. She can be judgmental, particularly with Amy.
Fumi's accountant tells her that she's running out of money, and she needs to ask Amy for a loan. She tries to find alternative ways, such as selling pieces of her husband's art. She breaks into Amy and George's home when they aren't there, but comes face-to-face against two intruders with her shotgun. She shoots at the intruders, but she falls down the stairs, making her gravely injured and enter a coma.
Fumi finds out more about Amy's lies, and she covers for her to both, George and Naomi. She thinks that Amy is good for her son, despite her continuous comments and criticism.

Fumi is an elegant woman. She wears head-to-toe designer clothes, and is always well-presented.
Personality[]
Fumi has high expectations of others, and she prides herself on her style and taste. She can be very judgmental, but this could be a cover for feeling alone and being not needed. She is an enabler for Amy to manipulate the people around her to fulfill her selfish wants at the cost of her own character or reputation at the end of the show.
